Paripoornam 🌕🪷☀️ began as a concept around 5 years ago, with its physical manifestation unfolding organically in June 2023.
Initially, the idea was to buy a big parcel of land together and develop it. Later we realised that we should experiment with the concept in a smaller space and learn to live in harmony with each other, upskill ourselves in natural farming, permaculture, sustainable construction, and the skills needed to provide holistic education to our children, etc. A new venture like this needs a strong team with integrity and that is what we wanted to achieve first.
So we tried it on 2 acres of land near Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, which was offered to the community by one of the families in our community. The families, who were very committed, took the rented home near the farm. We took one extra home for rent for the community kitchen and for the school. At the farm, we started growing our own food and became involved in sustainable construction. We attended the workshops and training to upskill ourselves.
We put a lot of effort in understanding each other to help create a harmonious culture. In the last one and a half years we believe that we reached the point where we are capable of addressing any conflicts holistically. We adopted Madhyasth Darshan (aka Jeevanvidya-Co Existential Philosophy) as the underlying philosophy for a harmonious life in the community.
We also got confidence in the skills required for natural living, making sustainable products, permaculture design of land, holistic education, natural and organic farming, eco-friendly home construction, establishing a friction-free culture, restoring the joy in people’s lives, nature cure, food processing, value-added products etc.
We established a very strong pedagogy team and those who have taken the role of teacher have undergone multiple teacher training programs (Waldorf, Gurukulam(IKS), J Krishnamurti, Open Learning, Montessori). We have learnt from our mistakes in this micro setup and now are confident enough to establish a bigger community on a large piece of land and make it successful. We are now open to onboarding more families by providing them with a soft landing and smoother transition.
