Paripoornam π πͺ· β – April 2025 updates:
The hunt for cool π homes for rent in neighbouring villages for Paripoornam ππͺ·βοΈ families to shift
Most of our days are spent finding the rented home. We are taking it as a top priority because the faster we shift, the faster the work will happen. This is also helping us in socialising with neighbouring villagers and understanding the village dynamics.
Another 10 acres of land on lease
We found 10 acres of land on lease very near Jeevashila, which we can use for growing fodder for cows, millets, pulses, etc. Initially, we are planning to take 5 acres. There is a possibility of taking the pipeline from Jeevashila to the proposed lease land.

The lesser Evilπ
We got a small tractor/slasher to clean one patch of land at Jeevashila as an experiment, and it was a success. Now we can do de-weeding at a lesser cost and go easy on the land compaction as the weight of the small tractor is less. Ideally, we should use oxen to plough fields, but we have a long way to go. Also, Anandji is exploring the no-till method of farming, and if it’s successful, then we will start adopting it.
Finding the open space inside the forest
We identified a few patches of land inside Jeevashila where land will be prepared for sowing (it’s raining well here) in a few days, where we will start growing fodder for cows. Grains, pulses and millets for humans. All will be using pure natural farming techniques to grow all our crops.

The pond and one straw revolution
We enquired about the earth movers and tractors, and the pond work will begin very soon, which is important because we need mud for construction. The north-west corner of Jeevashila gets flooded with water from the hillock, and the land becomes too wet. We are planning to dig a pond and convert that side of the land into a paddy field, and during the rainy season, we will grow a water-intensive crop like paddy. Next, we will grow wheat and barley, and during the dry season, we are planning to grow millets. From season to season, we follow the natural farming technique invented by Masanobu Fukuoka, which he explained in his famous book One Straw Revolution, which transformed many people’s lives.

Four cottages, four different natural construction methodologies
So much brainstorming went into choosing the natural construction method, but we couldn’t decide on any one. We decided to test the 4 best methods that are suitable for this locality and do a reality check. Initially, we are planning to build 4 cottages using four different natural construction methods so that we can learn as well as make better decisions for the rest of the construction.
This will also help us in evaluating the cost-effective and most suitable model for the 25 homes of Paripoornam families.
The space for the school
We consciously decided to establish our alternative school in the village itself because the village is not fully spoiled by modernity and it’s culturally very rich. Roads are wide, and big mud homes still exist. Children of the village are cultured and street-smart. We found one big home called Shiva Nilaya with lots of open space around for running our school, and we got a few leads to contact the owner. We may approach the owner in a week or so to rent to us to run our alternative school.
Our LLP registration
The LLP registration process is in progress, and Sri Krishna Anna is drafting the legal agreement to safeguard each other’s interests.
Appointing the auditor for Hridayavan Foundation
Documentation is being done for an auditor appointment for Hridayavan Foundation, and a CA will be appointed.
The Rats
Rats have spoiled the silage. Shanthinath Anna, Sathiyamoorthy Anna, Ganesh Anna, and I took the initiative to secure what was left.
150 Native seeds and tubers are secured
150 varieties of native vegetable seeds and tubers from Hooga Collective have arrived. We also sourced multiple native varieties of seeds from many small seed savers. A few of them are from Adivasis who have been saving the seeds for generations.
Thanks to the generous contributions from our supporters. Without your support, it was not possible for us to secure our food security. Thanks to Amith Garu(Hyderabad), Mohammed ji(Doha), Poornima Garu (US), Rajesh Anna (Tamilnadu), Sudha Akka (Chennai) & Vikaram ji (Bengaluru).
Natural construction Workshop attended by our community member
Sateesh Reddy garu of Paripoornam π πͺ· β has undergone 7 7-day natural construction workshop at Vishakapatnam under the guidance of Aditya Sharma ji. The original fee was 15k, but we had open dialogue with him and explained to him about Paripoornam ππͺ·β, and he reduced the fee to 5k. Overall expense was around 8k, which we funded from the community.
Beyond Money
We came up with a model where families can be fully part of Paripoornam with just one one-time small donation to cover the running costs. Also, one more option is where individuals or families can become volunteers. Please call to +91 96116 96116 for more detailed information.
The Angels
Right now, Paripoornam is funded by 3 angels and at least another 4 families under the angels category wish to join immediately, but we are holding ourselves back till LLP registration is complete. With them, we effectively can close the first 5 families at the cost of 35 Lakhs (refundable) + 2 Lakhs (non-refundable) contribution, which is sufficient for us to achieve a planned milestone.
The new families
Many new families have expressed their interest in joining. On the ground, we already have 5 families, so now we can host new families. Till now, we have been explaining the vision and giving the whole picture of the future. But these days we ask them to come meet families on the ground and talk to them, and experience the farm.
The Waldorf Gurukulam
3 new parents from Paripoornam ππͺ·β are attending the Waldorf teachers’ training program at Bengaluru under the guidance of Manivanan, who has 3 decades of experience as a Waldorf teacher. The teacher’s team is shaping up very well.
